About Jones Beach

Jones Beach delivers open-ocean exposure with long, shifting sandbars that can light up during solid Atlantic swell. The surf is predominantly fast, dumpy beach break, but when the bars align, it produces clean peaks and longer rides than most Long Island spots. Conditions are highly wind- and tide-sensitive, making timing critical. On good days, Jones offers raw, powerful East Coast surfing with plenty of room to spread out.

Friday morning's your best bet with 4-5ft waves and decent 6-second periods, plus the southwest wind won't be too brutal early. Thursday afternoon could work too if you don't mind fighting some chop from that stronger onshore wind.
