About Mondos

Mondos, just north of Ventura off Highway 101, is one of the best beginner-friendly surf spots on the California coast. The gentle, sloping bottom creates slow, crumbling waves that are perfect for learning and longboarding. On bigger days it can produce fun, playful surf for intermediate riders. The beach is part of Emma Wood State Beach, backed by bluffs and relatively uncrowded compared to spots further south. It's where Ventura parents bring their kids to learn.
