Ocean City, Maryland is the state's surf hub, with multiple jetties creating sandbar formations along the beach. The inlet and pier areas are popular spots that handle a variety of swell directions. Assateague Island to the south offers a more natural beach break experience. Hurricane season and fall nor'easters bring the most consistent surf to Maryland's shores.
