Virginia Beach is the mid-Atlantic's most developed surf scene, with the Oceanfront, Croatan, and Sandbridge offering distinct experiences. The pier and jetty areas create reliable sandbars. Virginia Beach picks up south through northeast swells and is well-positioned for hurricane swells. The Eastern Shore's Chincoteague offers a more remote option when conditions align.
