About Jaws

Pe'ahi, known worldwide as Jaws, is one of the most fearsome big-wave spots on the planet. Located on Maui's north shore, this deepwater reef break produces towering, 60-foot-plus waves that move at terrifying speed. The wave was largely a tow-in spot until recent years, when a handful of elite paddle surfers proved it could be caught under human power. The cliffs above offer a front-row spectator view when it's firing. Jaws only breaks a handful of times per winter, but when it does, it commands the attention of the entire surf world.
