About Oregon Surfing
Oregon offers powerful, uncrowded surf along its rugged Pacific coastline. Short Sands (Oswald West State Park) is the most iconic spot, tucked in a cove surrounded by old-growth forest. Seaside and Indian Beach pick up consistent north Pacific swells, while the southern coast around Gold Beach and Brookings catches both north and south energy. Winter delivers the biggest and most consistent surf, but the water is cold year-round and a thick wetsuit is mandatory.
