About Sebastian Inlet
Sebastian Inlet is the proving ground of East Coast surfing. This jetty break has produced more professional surfers than any other spot on the Atlantic seaboard—including 11-time world champion Kelly Slater, who grew up surfing these waters. First Peak, the main attraction, wedges off the north jetty to produce surprisingly hollow waves that can rival anything in Florida. The inlet was blasted open in 1948, and surfers discovered its potential in the 1960s. When a hurricane swell hits, Sebastian transforms into a world-class wave that draws surfers from across the state.
